Art by Crim has been growing and evolving for over thirty years and striving for excellence the entire time.

My Little Story

Katherine and husband James and own Art by Crim, a gallery on 834 South Chestnut Street in Clarksburg. They specialize in custom framing, photography, and fine art. Established in 1990, they have continued to serve the private and corporate community. They are still going strong as their lives and business grow and evolve, adding printmaker and photographer son James Michael Crim to the talented staff as a Wesleyan College Graphic Designer graduate.

Katherine is also a distinguished educator who teaches Art I –Advanced Placement Studio Art at Robert C. Byrd High School striving to impart her joy and skills of drawing and painting to a new generation. Her Advanced Placement students have achieved 100% pass rate over the last 6 years. She is the Visual Arts Planning Coordinator of Arts Alive for the WV Department of Education and assists with curriculum development and grant writing at the state and local levels. She is the Harrison County Arts Curriculum Coordinator. She has received many awards including ‘Outstanding Secondary Educator’ and ‘Distinguished Service Within the Profession’ through the WV Art Education Association and currently holds the Youth Art Month Coordinator position.

After hours she creates her own pieces to exhibit, enjoy, share and market. She has faithfully entered many local and state juried exhibitions over the last three decades and has been blessed with Best of Show and many Blue ribbons. She is a Tamarack juried artist as well. A watercolorist by the age of twelve, she has maintained her lifetime signature membership with WVWS. Currently Katherine has pieces juried into in the WV Watercolor Society Aqueous Exhibit at the Parkersburg Art Center and the Southern Watercolor Society.
